Please log in to the Zoom meeting approximately 10 minutes before your scheduled time. All parties will be placed in a waiting room and will be allowed into the meeting by the Trustee. Participants will not be able to see the video or hear the audio of the meeting while in the waiting room. Also, please ensure you know how to mute and unmute your audio and turn off and on your video camera in Zoom prior to the date of the scheduled meeting of creditors. If the Trustee is unable to clearly verify your identify in the Zoom meeting, the Trustee will be required to continue your meeting to a future date. Telephonic appearances will only be granted in the exigent circumstances. If possible, you should change your name in Zoom to your actual name. Instructions on changing your name on Zoom are available here.
If anyone is disruptive in the meeting room, they may be moved to the waiting room or removed entirely. Besides your attorney, no one should be present in the meeting room with you. You may not record audio or video of the meeting. Please be advised that all testimony is under penalty of perjury.
AT LEAST 2 BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO THE FIRST MEETING OF CREDITORS THE TRUSTEE’S OFFICE NEEDS TO HAVE A COPY OF A GOVERNMENT ISSUED ID AND PROOF OF SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. IF WE DON’T HAVE THESE DOCUMENTS, YOUR MEETING MAY NEED TO BE CONTINUED.
Acceptable Forms of Government Issued IDS are:
- Copy of a Driver’s License,
- S. government ID,
- State ID,
- Student ID,
- Passport,
- Current Visa (if not a U.S. Citizen),
- Military ID,
- Resident Alien Card, or
- Identity card issued by a national government authority
Acceptable Forms of Social Security Number are:
- Copy of Original Social Security Card,
- Medical Insurance Card,
- Pay stub,
- W2 form,
- IRS Form 1099,
- Social Security Administration Statement, or
- An ITIN (only if debtor is not eligible for a social security number)
Confirmation and Other Hearings
Debtor’s should ask their attorney whether their attendance at the confirmation or other hearings is required. Some bankruptcy plans are approved in advance of the confirmation hearing.
